EXPERIENCE
Independent Biodiversity situation investigator (2021-present).
Niger is faced with the disappearance and the drastic reduction of certain wildlife species, such as the Red Necked ostrich, the Dama gazelle, the Spotted hyena, and the Saharan cheetah. To address this problem, I am conducting research to assess the status of biodiversity in Niger’s Termit and Tin Touma National Nature Reserve. My research revolves around three focus areas: how do poaching and habitat loss impact on the country’s wildlife; what are the main threats to biodiversity; and how do wildlife species take refuge. The rains are rare, and animals and humans are beginning to worry about these extreme conditions of drought and heat. In this situation some species leave the place to find other refuges, and still other problems poaching forced some species to stay they leave to find other places to take refuge.
Independent Field investigator on deforestation and land degradation (2021-present).
Our survey revolves around several villages in the Zinder region, to find out the consequence of environmental degradation on our health are not insignificant: disruption of growth, respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, drop in life quality.
Restoring degraded lands facilitates economic resilience, creates jobs, increases people’s incomes and food security. It is also a way to safeguard biodiversity, while capturing atmospheric carbon, the source of global warming.
